Walking Trails: One of the key Community Projects in recent years has been the establishment and mainenance of two walking trails in the Brownhill Creek area. The first is the Max Holbrook walking trail (named in honour of past member Max) which takes the walker from the Carrick Hill car park to the top of Brownhill (see photo at left). The second is the Peter Nelson Walking trail, named in memory of the husband of past state Governor, Marjorie Jackson-Nelson. This trail takes walkers from  near the Brownhill Creek caravan park to the car park at McGelligots Quarry.

Project activites include clearing the trail, building fence "overpasses" and constructing steps at steeper sections. Both trails are extensively used by all sections of the community.

RYLA

Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) is Rotary's leadership training program for young people. RYLA participants can be ages 14-30, but most clubs and districts choose to focus on a narrower age range, such as 14-18 or 19-30. Our young RYLA students spend a week at camp participation.

RYLA emphasizes leadership, citizenship, and personal growth, and aims to;
-  Demonstrate Rotary's respect and concern for youth
-  Provide training experience for selected youth & potential leaders
-  Encourage leadership of youth by youth
-  Recognise young people who are rendering service to their communities .
