Pride in Workmanship

May 6th 2009 (6.30 pm for 7 pm)

Springfield House, 245 New Line Road, Dural

The Rotary Club of Castle Hill “Pride In Workmanship” awards are given each year to nominees employed within the Castle Hill area.

This is one of many initiatives by the club to recognize outstanding effort within the community. Others include “Excellence in Teaching”, which was held on March 25th and “Apprentice of the Year” which will be held on 24 June.

The objective of the Pride In Workmanship” award is to deliver recognition to people who are often considered to be the heartbeat of an organization, but who often can go without being recognized and thanked for their outstanding efforts.

The key criteria are:

·         A person who is recognized as representing their employer in good light.

·         A person who has a role that is not necessarily in management, but is vital to the ongoing success of a business.

·         A person who ordinarily is not formally recognized for the vital part they play

Typical nominees are bank tellers, receptionists, grounds people, personal assistants etc.

Nominations are closed for 2009, with 5 people from our community being recipients of the award.

If you would like to attend the evening and support the awardees, as well as enjoying some Rotary fellowship, please email Ian Johns at ianandgilly@msn.com

This year we also have a guest speaker from the Share the Vision Project which helps restore vision for people suffering from treatable blindness in Australia and developing countries.

There is a $29.00 cover charge for the meal.
