RIM 1962-2006

From the commencement of The Rotary Club of Epping in 1962 through till 2006 the newsletter of the Club, known as RIM, has been published weekly for the benefit of the members of the Club.

Each year is assigned a Volume number, with Volume 1 being the 1962/1963 Rotary year. Each weekly edition is assigned an Issue number for that year.

RIM was printed out each week into an A5 size booklet form and handed to members as they arrived at the meeting, keeping them up to date with the activities and happenings in the Club. At the end of each Rotary year in June, two complete sets of RIM editions for that year were bound into hard cover books, with one  book being handed to the President for that year for his records and enjoyment, and the other book being retained in the Club archives.

As technology has evolved, the bound hard cover books were replaced by an electronic CD version of the year's RIMs. Now RIM is no longer printed and handed to members, but is emailed to members and a pdf file is uploaded onto the Club website each week.

While the methods of production and distribution have changed over the years and will no doubt change in the future, the purpose of our RIM newsletter remains the same - to  promote good effective communication amongst the members of the Club to enable the Rotarians of Epping to make a difference in the world.

All the combined editions of RIM in their various styles and formats, from the beginning in 1962 through to the present day, make up a wonderful resource documenting the rich history of The Rotary Club of Epping.

To obtain earlier copies of RIM that are not on the website please contact the Club Secretary in the first instance.
