I am honoured to be elected the President of the Rotary Club of Drummoyne. The Club has a long tradition of serving the local community & international communities with effectiveness & enthusiasm.
This year the Rotary International President John Kenny has chosen the theme “The future of Rotary is in your hands”. This is the case in over 33,000 communities throughout the world.
In 2009 -2010 Rotarians are all responsible for shaping Rotary & will continue working on the broad areas of need – water, health, hunger & literacy for the wellbeing of children & all families.
This year our Club will commit funds to Rotary’s Challenge for Polio Eradication. We will continue to participate in our District Governor partner’s project to supply high dose Vitamin A tablets that can prevent blindness in children suffering from malnutrition.
Within our local community we need to build on our successes as we undertake club service projects.
We must look beyond our own community to the many communities & as Rotarians we will not stand idle.
As we move into the coming year the Club will continue to increase its membership base & undertake projects that will raise the profile of Rotary within our community. The Board of Directors is well positioned to lead the Club in what will be a happy & productive year.
