
Sylvia Shepherd
Sylvia Shepherd was introduced to the Family of Rotary through her involvement in Rotaract. Since then, she has been an active member of The Rotary Club of Drummoyne since 2001. She enjoys the opportunities that Rotary provides to contribute to the community.
Sylvia’s background is diverse. She trained at St Vincent’s to be a registered nurse and completed her Midwifery Certification at St Margaret’s. She undertook additional certification in Intensive Care at Concord Hospital, whilst working full time in the Renal Unit at the same hospital.
Sylvia has also completed a Bachelor or Arts in Education and Behavioural Sciences and Ancient History.
Following this, she completed a Master’s Degree of Public Health at the University of Sydney and lectured at the Faculty of Health, The University of Western Sydney for nine years.
She has worked in various areas of Health and Public Education with Arthritis and Osteoporosis Australia. She is currently Director of Nursing at Healthwoods Specialist Centre, when not travelling.
