What's  RYLA    ?   Rotary Youth Leadership Award --Realising leadership potential

RYLA is a premier youth leadership development program designed to promote productivity ,personal and professional development of Australian Youth who have already been identified with exceptional leadership potential 


RYLA  recruits only the highest calibre young people and offers this group the chance to access some of Australia's most influential and motivational speakers; experts in a variety of fields.


RYLA is hosted by Rotary, a reputable not for profit organisation whose mission is to provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations and build goodwill and peace in the world. One of Rotary International's key commitments is to helping young people prepare for the future and to build the next generation of leaders

Established in 1971, RYLA focuses on leadership, citizenship, and personal development.

The program is designed to:

  1. Build on existing leadership potential of participants providing them with the opportunity to sharpen their leadership skills and put them in practice.
  2. Encourage participants to further develop their own unique talents and abilities.
  3. Remind participants of their responsibility to their communities and to the world.

 Who can apply ?

Invitation for RYLA applications are open to youth with leadership aspirations and/ or experience between the ages of 19 and 25, with a minimum of 2 years out of school

Successful participants will demonstrate the following basic criteria:

  • Leadership experience or potential, demonstrated through community, business, social and educational activities or organisations.
  • Commitment to ongoing learning.
  •  Strong communication skills.
  • Awareness of current events 

         How can one apply?

         All interested candidates seeking sponsorship through this club  must complete an official RYLA Application form and return it to this club for endorsement .         Please note that RYLA is an in-house learning experience of one week duration held usually over the third week in January each year - Before applying,  intending applicants will need to ensure that they can get work release or take their annual leave.
