Engadine's Youth Exchange program

WELCOME TO THE ROTARY CLUB OF ENGADINE'S YOUTH EXCHANGE PROGRAM
The Rotary Club of Engadine has been involved in the Youth Exchange program since 1974, when it hosted its first inbound student , Kuniko Kawamurra of Japan . Since that time, this club has sponsored 26 local students to the outbound program while hosting 27 inbound from a variety of diverse countries. Interestingly, after 35 years in the program our current outbound student is being hosted by the Rotary Club of Omi Hachiman in Shiga Prefecture on Honshu Island , Japan. See highlights in our current student exchange page [click here] .
The Rotary Youth Exchange program recently celebrated its fiftieth year in Australia.
All of our 26 outbound students have been great ambassadors to our club , District and country. When our past students were asked at the Club Fiftieth Anniversary Celebrations would they do it again , they were emphatic that it had been the best year of their lives. Being able to learn another language, be engrossed in another country's culture and making life long friendship was a great experience allowing them to develop and to reach their potential . Some past students have even gone back to their host country to live permanently. Others have used their experience on exchange to return to study at the post graduate level and thereby advancing to high level executive positions in industry.
Each year , the Rotary Club of Engadine seeks students meeting the program criteria and willing to met the challenge of Rotary Youth Exchange.
