International Programs

The following committees encourage programs which foster international understanding and goodwill.
Rotary Australia World Community Service (RAWCS LTD)
RAWCS Ltd coordinates the activities of Rotary’s various Community Service programs. The Central Region (9500/9520) is one of five in Australia. Clubs are encouraged to support RAWCS by giving donations of time and/or goods or financial support. “Rotary Australia Overseas Aid Fund” donations are tax deductible.

Donations in Kind (DIK)
A joint 9500/9520 program working from the warehouse in Salisbury, where donated goods are stored. With volunteer help, goods are packaged and shipped internationally. DIK does not initiate, but helps coordinate projects between clubs.

Coordinates major bed netting and education programs in PNG and the Solomon Islands. It establishes village research facilities and malarial control programs.

Safe Water Saves Lives (SWSL)/Water and Sanitation Rotary Action Group (WASRAG)
Aim to supply potable water to communities in developing countries, by planning systems of water catchment, storage and reticulation.
