ROTARY YOUTH EXCHANGE

Every year, 7,000 students aged between 13 and 19 years old participate in the
experience of a lifetime with the Rotary Youth Exchange Program.

The program runs for either 3 months (short term) or the academic year (long term).

As a Rotary exchange student you would live with Rotarian ‘foster’ parents, as their own children.

Both sponsoring clubs and host clubs monitor the student’s progress during the year. Rotary Youth Exchange students stay with families in countries other than their own where they can experience a different culture, learn a new language and learn a new way of living and as well as a great deal about themselves.

The student will make plenty of friends in the process of teaching others about their country and customs, learning about their host family and basically acting as a young ambassador in bringing the world together.

A primary goal of the program is to foster world understanding by way of intercultural exchange.

It is standard practice for local Rotary districts and clubs to screen youth interested in the program using detailed applications and interviews. This process helps ensure that only highly responsible and mature students are sent on an exchange.

If you are interested in becoming a Rotary Youth Exchange student, please contact your local Rotary Cub to see if it participates in this program.  To locate Rotary Clubs  Click Here
