ROTARY YOUTH LEADERSHIP AWARD (RYLA)

RYLA is a youth leadership training programme for young adults 18-25 years of age.

The focus of RYLA is to assist young people to stretch and grow, to encourage and promote the following leadership skills as
desirable qualities -: creative thinking
                                 problem solving
                                 handling confrontational issues
                                 building relationships
                                 goal setting for the future
                                 building self confidence
                                 public speaking
Usually Burnside Rotary Club sponsors one young adult to attend the week long seminar each year.

In 2014 our club sponsored two participants to attend RYLA. They were Andrew Bradley and Suseendraran Babu.

They both said it was a wonderful experience and were very grateful to our club for sponsoring them.

In the 2012-13 year we sponsored four participants:-Sian Hay,Alice Yamahana,Danial Zamberi andCelina Suresh.

                                               

 

In 2013 Burnside sponsored graduates Thao Dang, Sukarno, and Sharveen Kumar with parents and club members,P.P. Bob Cooper, P.P. Brian Wall & P. Rob Elliott at the RYLA Graduation Dinner and later  reporting back to the club.

2014 dates Sept 27th -Oct 3rd . Venue Nunyara Conference Centre, Belair.
