The Reel Event 2013 - another evening of short films displaying some of the best artistic talent from our young South Australians

“The Reel Event” showcases short films produced by young South Australians.  And in 2013, in only its 2nd year, the Reel Event produced spectacular results.

The organisers have always aimed "to focus upon local artistic talent and bring it to the attention of an audience that may not be aware of the achievements within the film industry here in South Australia."

The colour, sound and mixture of animation, live-action and documentary - some funny, some controversial and some thought-provoking - delivered something for everyone.

In keeping with the aim of focusing upon the younger members of our society, proceeds from the night are being donated by the Rotary Club of Magill Sunrise to:
  - RYWELL, Rotary’s youth programme helping children from families “at risk” here in South Australia in conjunction with Families SA,  and
  - Youth Opportunities (SA), a not-for-profit organisation that delivers personal leadership training to help young people make positive choices for their futures.

The Capri Cinema again provided the perfect setting, some extra musical entertainment ... and the record-breaking crowd also scored food, drink and a Q&A session with some of the film-makers.

We greatly appreciate the support of:
