Birth of the Rotary Club of Beecroft

In June 1972 the Club received its Charter becoming the 59th Rotary Club in District 268.

Some difficulty was experienced in a arranging a Charter Night. Grace Bros, Parramatta was booked for the occasion, but on confirming the booking it was found that the building was demolished.  However, the subsequent choice of the Masonic Club proved a good venue.

Charter Night, Tuesday 1 August 1972 was a memorable occasion with 602 registrations received and despite a petrol strike and torrential rain, five hundred and eighty (580) people attended.

In the initial period of 13 months, the club wisely concerned itself with its internal organisation. Learning as much as possible about Rotary and one another.
