RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards)

RYLA Vision

To challenge the ideals of young people from the age of 18 to 28 years. Selected by the local Rotary Club in their Districts to receive the award, young people are entitled to attend a week long seminar aimed at developing further their personal and leadership skills

RYLA aims to:

  IDENTIFY: recognise the best young leaders and young people with the potential to become excellent leaders; and

  EMPOWER: provide them with the opportunity to learn about the skills, responsibilities and challenges of leadership; and

  CHANGE: encourage young people to improve their world by service

Who is eligible?

Young people, between the ages of 18 and 27 years are eligible to be nominated for RYLA. It is preferable that these young adults have the capability for personal growth and have the potential to become leaders within their community and careers

How to apply?

The selection process is conducted by our Rotary Club and involves submitting an application form (available directly from the club or your District's RYLA committee) and attending an interview.

Do you know someone who could be eligible?

If so then find and contact your local Rotary Club and put forward your potential Candidate(s). Your local Club will then contact the candidate directly and arrange for an interview. As a part of the selection process, Clubs should be satisfied that the applicant(s) meet the stated criteria.
