The History of Epping    The formation of the club had its beginnings 
Years in review    22nd May,1962 when proposed members of the club
1962-63 1977-78 1992-93 2007-08    ( who had been approached by the special representative 
1963-64 1978-79 1993-94 2008-09    of District Governor Sleath Lowry, Bill Stacey of Ryde club)
1964-65 1979-80 1994-95 2009-10     were invited as guests of the Rotary Club of Ryde to 
1965-66 1980-81 1995-96      St.Anne's church hall Ryde.
1966-67 1981-82 1996-97    
1967-68 1982-83 1997-98      11th.June,1962 the proposed members met at the 
1968-69 1983-84 1998-99      Everglades restaurant Epping at 6pm for an organisational
1969-70 1984-85 1999-00      meeting chaired by District Governor Sleath Lowry.
1970-71 1985-86 2000-01      Officers were elected and the club's Constitution 
1971-72 1986-87 2001-02      and By-Laws adopted.
1972-73 1987-88 2002-03    
1973-74 1988-89 2003-04      The charter for the formation of the club was granted by 
1974-75 1989-90 2004-05      Rotary International 15th.June,1962 and at that date the
1975-76 1990-91 2005-06      membership was 25.The first meeting of the club was held 
1976-77 1991-92 2006-07      at Everglades 18th.June,1962
   
Past Presidents    Twenty seven members were inducted by District Governor 
Paul Harris Fellowships    Ed Hill (the first District Governor of District 268) and
Youth Exchange Students    Epping's charter was presented by Past District District
Probus Clubs    Governor Sleath Lowry in the presence of 450 rotarians and  
FAIM Trips    wives in St.Albans Church of England Memorial Hall
Group Study exchange    10th. September, 1962.Lloyd Gollan was Charter President.
J W Langston Awardees  
High School Debates    29th.October,1962 official visits were made by Rotary clubs 
Primary School Debates    of North Sydney and Ryde.At that meeting a presentation
Rotary Youth leadership    a silver salver was made by the clubs to PP Eric Allars
Science    in appreciation of his work in the formation of the Epping
Sister Clubs:    club and President John Edmonds of our mother club
  Rotary Club of Ikebukuro    (Ryde)presented a cheque for  122-8-2 ($224.83)
  Rotary Club of Monza Ovest    representing the surplus of funds after the expenses of the 
     charter night
   
   
Three features of the formation of the club were:-        
1. The charter was granted within a record short time of four days due to the expertise of District .
    Governor Sleath Lowry            
2. Epping was the last club formed within the boundary of the previous district 275. District 268
   (the northern portion of the former district 275) came into existence 1st.July,1962.  
3. The club never met as a provisional club because the charter was granted so quickly.
