Throsby Park

Rotary Park

Approximately 28 years ago the Rotary Club of West Wollongong planted the trees in the parkland area between the Denison St and Throsby Drive intersection and the Beaton Park Athletics Track.

Now, thanks to the assistance being given to the club by the Wollongong City Council and the Wollongong Botanic Gardens, the club has cleared the site of plant litter, spread 12 truckloads of mulch and planted approx. 240 Australian natives. The council also donated and installed 2 park benches which were renovated by our members Dennis Simpson and Bob Armessen.

We, as a club comprised of local citizens, are pleased to have been part of our local council’s current greening the city program.
