Another worthy resident has been named The 5RM Riverland & Mallee Rotary Clubs' Citizen of the Year, after last Friday's Awards Dinner.

It was held at the Berri Resort Hotel, hosted by John Rix of the Berri Rotary Club.

The deserving recipient of the 2013 Citizen of the Year Award is Pat West of Loxton, for her service to several clubs and committees and she says she looks forward to continuing her work with the Loxton Christmas Festival Committee.

Pat has also been recognised by the State Government, having won the Government Services Achiever Award.

As well as the Citizen of the Year, the Young person of the Year was awarded to Meg Gillespie for her community contributions.

The 2013 Relay for Life was named the Event of the Year, after raising a huge $57,567.

Guest Speaker Ross Curtis of The Royal Flying Doctor Service was a highlight of the night, putting the organisations contributions to the Riverland and to the Country, into perspective for all who attended.

Congratulations to all Award Winners and Finalists.
