Pride of Workmanship Award

Pride of Workmanship Award goes to a worthy recipient!

It was our privilege to award a Pride of Workmanship Award to Matthew Bosustow.

Matthew’s dedication and commitment to his work is an example to all.  In last couple of years he did not have a day off work.  When he responded to the award he summed things up with  “I just love working”.  Well done, Matthew!

Mathew is a client of MJP Employment Services who specialise in assisting people with disabilities.  The Manager of MJP Employment Services MS Olivia Sorre said that Matthew has very good work ethics and he is happy to do any task assigned to him. Matthew  is very proud of the work he does and he is happy that he can contribute to the community.

MJP Employment Services is a division of Minda that offers a placement and training service for people with a mild intellectual disability who want to work in open employment. MJP has trained, experienced staff who ensure that job placement needs are met through skills assessment and development of an individual work plan.

The range of services include provision of information about employment and training options, organising work experience and work placements, the provision of on and off-the-job support, assistance with job search skills, and provision of incentives to employers.

Job Support Officer,  Sandy Finch supported Matthew in the initial stages of his work and she provides continuing support. She visited Matthew at his work place and supported him by being there to help solve any problems. She still provides support for Matthew and a liaison between Matthew, the Management and MJP until such time that Matthew will be able to work without support.    "Matthew was never a problem", she said, "It  is a pleasure to work with him. He is always cheerful, friendly and polite to other staff  and he is willing to do any task assigned to him".  Then she smiled and said:   "I am quite proud of him"

Well, Matthew, we are all proud of you!
