ROTARY BUMPER QUIZ NIGHT 14 AUGUST 2009
Our very successful quiz night enabled the club to donate $4,000 to CCA to support their financial counselling service. Presidet Graham Stevens presented a cheque to CCA General manager Heather Pinto at the organisation's offices in Eastwood.

WHAT IS CHRISTIAN COMMUNITY AID? http://www.ccas.org.au
CCA is a local charity supporting local people in need. That is why we need your support for the Quiz Night. Get your friends or work colleagues together for a fun night but more importantly to support a worthy local charity.
Did you know Christian Community Aid has been providing services to the local community since 1965? Services include Aged Care, Family Day Care, Social Welfare, Financial Counselling and Adult Education.
Proceeds from our Quiz Night will support extension of CCA’s Financial Counseling Service which is a confidential, community service, which assists people who are experiencing financial difficulties or who need information relating to credit and debt. The service always strives to maintain the dignity of clients and encourages self reliance. It offers assistance with financial, business, and para-legal matters as well as provides skill in money management. This is a free service. Financial Counsellors are qualified staff and volunteers, who are members of the Financial Counsellors’ Association of NSW. Face to face interviews are confidential, supportive and non- judgmental.
In addition CCA has a Social Welfare Services program to support children, young people, individuals and families so that they can enhance their independence, safety, self-esteem and quality of life within the community.
Clients who are experiencing a financial crisis are provided with information and referrals to appropriate services. They are also provided with practical, physical and material assistance and related support through the provision of vouchers for food, electricity, gas, water and telephone accounts. Material aid such as food parcels, baby clothes, blankets and linen is also provided. These are free services. CCA is currently facing increasing demands for its services and has recently launched its Winter Food Appeal to meet the demand.
