The Pride of Workmanship Program enables managers in our society to help employees achieve the goal of job satisfaction, and to publicly recognise them for their efforts. Participating businesses promote the Pride of Workmanship theme of "Do it once - do it well" throughout their organisation and nominate employees worthy of recognition, not only from within the organisation, but from the wider community.
The award is designed to acknowledge an employee, irrespective of age or vocation, who - in the eyes of his or her employer - displays outstanding qualities in terms of approach, attitude, dedication and commitment, to his or her job. It is intended to cover all aspects of work performance and ethics, inclusive of quality and quantity of output, safety, initiative, sense of responsibility, etc. The award is recognition of individual achievement and commitment. It is important that the nominee be seen by their peers and fellow workers in their organisation as a worthy recipient of the award.
