Mayor's Benefit Ball Success

We thanks Mayor Simon for this summary of the Mayor Benefit Ball

On Saturday night, 26th August 207 the Rotary Club of Campbelltown brought back an almost forgotten but dearly loved local event - The Mayoral Gala Ball. More than 375 people packed into The Marche Club to enjoy an excellent meal and great entertainment by The RockDoctors.

As in the past, all funds raised from the event will be donated to the North Eastern Community Hospital. We are extremely lucky to have a community owned and operated hospital in our area providing exceptionally high levels of health services, particularly in the maternity area. They also have a very important aged care facility too helping some of the most needy elderly people.

We are also extremely lucky to have a business like Paradise Motors Mazda in our area who do so much to support the community. For this event their support allowed for a lottery where the first prize was a Mazda 2 car, with the lucky winners drawn on the night.

I have heard rumours that as much as $25,000 was raised from the event, which will make a massive difference to the NECH. Sincere congratulations to Campbelltown Rotary on this amazing achievement - the culmination of many months of very hard work by a lot of people and this is just one small example of the work they do in our community raising well over $120,000 a year for a wide range of essential causes.

I had the great honour of welcoming everyone to the event - thanks to John Gardner MP for sending me this photo.

I'm not sure, but judging by the response to this event I think it may make another comeback...
