FIFTY YEARS OF COMMUNITY SERVICE
AND THAT'S JUST THE BEGINNING!

The Rotary Club of Mitcham is celebrating its 50th year of community service.

Rotary is an international organisation and members of the Mitcham Rotary Club are active in their community and beyond, working hard to raise funds for those in need. For example, the Mitcham Club operates a second hand bookshop at 448 Goodwood Road Cumberland Park to raise funds for local projects such as the implementation of a sensory garden at the Repatriation Hospital, and to provide support given each year to Bedford Industries, to youth leadership opportunities, and to local schools. Mitcham Rotary is also involved in an environmental project which is aiming to restore the former sheep station Calperum to its natural state through a massive revegetation program. Internationally, the club supports several overseas programs including a school in Tanzania, and Rotary International has been instrumental in the near eradication of polio through its PolioPlus campaign
