President Jessica Soares

 A message from President Jessica

It is a great honour to have been elected the 49th President of the Rotary Club of Kogarah knowing that 48 illustrious Presidents have preceded me. One of the hallmarks of our club is the camaraderie and the fellowship that exists in the Club

Each Monday, we meet, at the Motor Boat Club, a venue with spectacular and  beautiful views for a two course meal.

Our Club is involved in many projects both local and international. The International theme for this year ‘Building Communities, Bridging Continents’ truly applies to our club. The activities of our club are listed under the tab Our Club. We now have Friends of Rotary " for those who would like to be involved in Rotary activities but are unable to commit to the regular attendance requirements of Rotarians. Follow the links for more information.

The City of  Kogarah is centrally located being just 15 minutes from Sydney Airport and 20 minutes from the CBD. It has first class health services including St. George Hospital, fine dining, a variety of accommodation and skirts part of Botany Bay .

Visiting Rotarians are always most welcome as is anyone interested in learning more about Rotary and serving the community locally and world wide. This year we hope to continue with the projects that have been initiated by previous Presidents striking a balance between building local communities and bridging bridging continents through our international projects.

Fellowship through Service and Service above Self

Mission Statement
The mission of Rotary International, a worldwide association of Rotary clubs, is to provide service to others, promote high ethical standards, and advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through its fellowship of business, professional, and community leaders..

For Rotary, The Four-Way Test is the cornerstone of all action.
It has been for years, and it will be in the future.
Of the things we think, say or do
  1. Is it the TRUTH?
  2. Is it FAIR to all concerned?
  3. Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
  4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?

The test is one of the hallmarks of Rotary. Since it was developed in 1932 by Herbert J. Taylor, who later became RI president, it has never ceased to be relevant. Its four brief questions are not based on culture or religion. Instead, they are a simple checklist for ethical behavior. They transcend generations and national borders.
