President's Welcome

The Rotary Club of Randwick has been proudly serving the community since 1948.  During this time the club and its members have provided volunteer support to many projects at the local, national and international level, and we look forward to continuing this fine tradition of service well into the future.

If you would like to learn more about Rotary and our Club, please contact any of the club's executive shown on this website, or simply come along to one of our weekly dinner meetings on Tuesday nights at the Randwick Labor Club, commencing at 6:45 for 7pm.  Meetings conclude around 8:30pm and involve a convivial dinner, a small amount of general business and a guest speaker on topics of community interest.

What’s involved in being a member

Weekly meetings

Rotary promotes the ideal of service through fellowship – which means getting together each Tuesday evening to discuss Club projects, hear guest speakers on a range of topics, and enjoy a meal shared with friends and new acquaintances.   Cost of the dinner is $20, with drinks available at the bar.

Fundraising

Our main fundraiser is the Rotary Markets, held on Sundays at the Kingsford Roundabout.  This is a joint venture between the Rotary Clubs of Randwick and Maroubra, with proceeds being distributed to the clubs’ projects. Since the Markets started 20 years ago, over $1.5 million has been raised for the Club's local and international projects.

Members participate in 4 hour shifts every 5 weeks or so at our Rotary Markets.

Club activities

We also participate in a range community service project activities, and hold regular social activities.

Membership enquiries

Membership enquiries are very welcome, and should be directed to either President Richard or Secretary Eileen, whose contact details are shown under the "Contact Us" pages of this website.

Polio eradication

After 20 years of hard work, Rotary and its partners are on the brink of eradicating this tenacious disease, but a strong push is needed now to root it out once and for all. It is a window of opportunity of historic proportions.

Your contribution will help Rotary match a $100 million challenge grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. The resulting $200 million will directly support immunization campaigns in developing countries, where polio continues to infect and paralyze children, robbing them of their futures and compounding the hardships faced by their families.

As long as polio threatens even one child anywhere in the world, children everywhere remain at risk. The stakes are that high.
