INSPIRATIONAL WOMAN AWARD WINNER - SHARYN McKENZIE

There were 39 candidates from 8 Districts in NSW and the ACT - an amazing array of women, who have achieved great deeds in their communities, locally and overseas. Sharyn felt humbled and ecstatic that her work with SCARF had been recognised at such an auspicious occasion. RC Illawarra Sunrise are proud that our nominee was so selected. Congratulations Sharyn.
RYLA CANDIDATES : Louis Westoff,
Katherine Kerr, Nick Underhill.

Our 3 RYLA candidates visited us for
breakfast, sharing with us their fantastic experience at the RYLA Leadership
Camp recently. NICK found it absolutely inspirational. A week about leadership & forging
personal bonds with a whole new network of motivated, interested people.
KATHERINE went with a mixture of excitement & apprehension. She found the
77 other Rylarians to be people with a passion to be part of something,
inspired, motivated & enthusiastic.
LOUIS reported that he got so much more out of the weekend in fact is now
heading to London in August to finish his masters. Louis echoed the other two in saying "I
can't thank you enough for sending me on such a fantastic opportunity." So this years RYLA crew have set up a Facebook page to keep in touch.

BREAKFAST ON THE BEACH : Sun 10 Feb
With a 6.30am start and a hot sun shining, Rotarians in their trademark BBQ aprons and brandishing the tongs, were there to feed the thousands at North Beach, with lashings of bacon, sausages and eggs. All proceeds were for Disability organisations in our community and a better turn-out there could not have been.
