The first provisional meeting was held on 5th February 1963
The Rotary Club of Barmera was admitted to District 250 Rotary International on 25th March 1963 and it's charter was presented on 4th May 1963 as the 53rd Club.
The first community project of the Barmera Rotary Club was a fountain situated in the centre of a round about at the top entrance of Barmera's main Street, Barewell Avenue.

Rotary Club's first "busy bee" on Sunday 27th October 1963.
The fountain was officially turned on Christmas Eve 1963 after many hours of hard work at an approximate cost of £400.
