From the President's Desk

Hi Everyone,

Many thanks to the volunteers at the Rippet BBQ Fundraiser last Saturday.

The total take is $1546 allowing $156 for meat expenses, I would guess another $100 to Kym for the food purchased and I would be so brave as to say we probably netted $1250 to $1300.

Absolutely a great job Team, we also used stock left over from Birdsville, hence the higher profit and we still have enough soft drinks for two more events, more or less.

Rotarians who earned massive Community Service hours for the day were: Robert W, Ingrid J, Rick J, Jan K and I. We were ably assisted by and with many thanks to Kym W, Louise T and her two daughters Holly and Jess and Chris L. We do need these volunteers on an 8hr shift day. These five additional volunteers just helped us out so much. Thanks everyone. The comments about the professionalism of this team and the BBQ trailer blew them away.

We have been asked to do another BBQ at My Kindy Varsity Lakes Christmas Party being held on Saturday December 14th, 2013 between the hours of 5pm and 7pm. So we are looking for volunteers to wear Santa hats and have a great time with the kids, so please let me know if you can make it:  president@rotaryeclubnextgen.org

Also I spoke with Ian and Heather yesterday and they will be home on Friday next.

The Project has gone very well. They and their volunteers have done a massive job on two houses so far and put in a horrendous amount of Community Service hours to the Royal Flying Doctor Service.

We will receive a full report when Ian and Heather return, at the moment their days are way too long, way too hot and way too busy to allow time to do this.

Thank you very much for this great effort.

Cheers

Geoff
